Find Your Condition. See If We Can Help.

If you're dealing with chronic pain and not sure whether it falls within what we treat, this page is built for you. Joint & Spine Laser Center treats soft tissue, joint, disc, and nerve conditions across the spine and extremities — and we offer a complimentary consultation so you're not guessing.

Spine and Back Conditions

The majority of patients who come through our door have a spinal complaint of some kind — often one that's been mismanaged or left untreated because surgery felt like the only option offered.

  • Back pain — muscle, disc, and joint sources, acute and chronic
  • Sciatica — nerve compression causing radiating leg pain
  • Herniated disc — bulging or ruptured disc with or without nerve involvement
  • Neck pain — cervical joint, disc, and muscle pain

Joint and Extremity Conditions

Joint pain in the knees, shoulders, and feet is frequently soft tissue in origin — which means it responds to treatment rather than requiring replacement or injection.

  • Knee pain — meniscus irritation, osteoarthritis, ligament strain
  • Shoulder pain — rotator cuff, impingement, bursitis
  • Plantar fasciitis — heel and arch pain from fascial inflammation
  • Arthritis — joint degeneration in the spine and extremities

Sports Injuries

Sports injuries are their own category here because the treatment approach differs. The goal is tissue repair and return to function, not just pain reduction.

Acute and Overuse Injuries

Sprains, strains, tendinopathies, and repetitive stress injuries respond well to Class IV laser therapy. We treat the tissue directly at therapeutic depth, which accelerates cellular repair rather than masking the pain.

Post-Activity Recovery

Athletes and active patients use our laser and hydrotherapy protocols to reduce recovery time between events or training cycles. This is the same equipment tier used by NFL and Olympic sports medicine programs.

Return-to-Function Goals

We evaluate what you're trying to get back to — not just where it hurts. If your shoulder is keeping you off the ice or your knee is ending your hiking season, that context shapes how we build your treatment plan.

Nerve Conditions

Peripheral neuropathy is one of the most underserved conditions in conventional medicine. Patients are often told to manage symptoms indefinitely. We treat the nerve tissue directly using our structured neuropathy program.

Conditions in this category include peripheral neuropathy, diabetic neuropathy, and nerve pain in the feet, legs, and hands. If you've been told your neuropathy is irreversible, a consultation here is worth your time before accepting that conclusion.

Which Treatment Applies to Which Condition

Not every condition requires the same approach. Here's how our treatment modalities map to the types of problems we see most often.

  • Class IV laser therapy — soft tissue injuries, nerve conditions, joint inflammation, plantar fasciitis, arthritis, post-surgical recovery, and neuropathy. This is the most broadly applicable tool we have.
  • Spinal decompression — herniated and bulging discs, degenerative disc disease, sciatica with disc involvement, and chronic neck or low back pain with a disc component.
  • Chiropractic adjustments — spinal joint dysfunction, acute neck and back pain, and mechanical pain that responds to joint mobilization.
  • Hydrotherapy — adjunct recovery support for musculoskeletal pain, tension, and post-treatment soreness. Available as a standalone or add-on.
  • Custom orthotics — foot, knee, hip, and low back pain with a postural or biomechanical component. Built from a 3D scan, not an off-the-shelf insert.

Many patients receive more than one modality in the same visit. One evaluation covers all of it.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What kinds of conditions do you treat at Joint & Spine Laser Center?

We treat soft tissue, joint, disc, and nerve conditions across the spine and extremities. This includes back pain, neck pain, sciatica, herniated discs, knee and shoulder pain, plantar fasciitis, arthritis, sports injuries, and peripheral neuropathy. If your condition isn't listed, call us — we'll tell you honestly whether it's something we can address.
  • Can laser therapy help my condition?

Class IV laser therapy is effective for a broad range of soft tissue, joint, and nerve conditions. It works by delivering therapeutic energy directly to damaged tissue at a depth that most devices can't reach. If you're unsure whether your condition qualifies, a complimentary consultation will give you a clear answer.
  • What does a soft tissue specialist treat?

Soft tissue includes muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia, and the connective tissue surrounding joints and nerves. A soft tissue-focused clinic like ours treats conditions that originate in these structures — which covers the majority of chronic pain complaints that don't require surgery.
  • Do I need to see multiple specialists for different problems?

Not here. We evaluate the spine, extremities, joints, and nerves together in a single appointment. If your back pain and your foot pain are connected — and they often are — we address both rather than sending you to a separate provider for each.
  • What if my condition isn't listed on this page?

Call us at (715) 623-2123 and describe what you're dealing with. We'll tell you directly whether it's something we treat, and if it isn't, we'll say so. We don't take patients we can't help.

Not Sure If Your Condition Qualifies? Ask Us Directly.

If you don't see your condition on this page, that doesn't mean we can't help. Call the clinic or schedule a complimentary consultation and we'll give you a straight answer. We serve patients across a 45-mile radius including Wausau, Merrill, Rhinelander, Tomahawk, Shawano, and Clintonville — and we're straightforward about what we can and can't do before you drive out.
